Once again school meals provider, Local Food Links, has run a competition for pupils in its schools to design Christmas cards. The competition, which is now in its fourth year, is very popular with many children submitting entries showcasing an array of colourful and original designs.
This year’s winners are for Key Stage 1 Tommy Kay (Year 1, Milldown CE Academy) and for Key Stage 2/3 Isla Davie (Year 5, Winsham Community Primary School). Tommy submitted a charming Santasaurus whilst Isla created an elegant sledge in the night sky design.
Chief Executive, Caroline Morgan, commented that:
“The standard of entries this year has been higher than ever and choosing winners was tremendously difficult! Our ethos is that we work in partnership with our schools, rather than just supplying them with school meals. We wouldn’t want to buy Christmas Cards when there is so much talent amongst pupils. Recipients of our cards often let us know how much they have loved the designs.”
Tommy exclaimed:
“I’m shocked that I won, I didn’t think I would actually win it!”
Winsham Primary School commented :
“Isla was very pleased to have won the competition as she worked very hard on her card and we loved the presentation assembly for her. A big thank you to Local Food Links for her Amazon voucher which she is saving for Christmas.”
