What says LOVE better than some home-baked treats?
This is our delicious Chocolate Shortbread Biscuit recipe and is ideal for making with the children.
What you need:
200g softened, Unsalted Butter
25g Cornflour
25g Cocoa Powder
280g Plain Flour
100g Caster Sugar
Optional, White or Dark Chocolate for decorating
Method:
Preheat oven to 140°C / Gas Mark 1 and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
Place all the ingredients into a mixer and mix into a dough. Alternatively mix by hand.
Roll into a thick sausage shape approximately 7cm diameter and leave to chill for 40 minutes then slice into 15 equal discs
or if you have heart shaped cookie cutters roll the dough out until its approx. 1cm thick, chill for 40 minutes and then cut out heart shapes.
Place your disks or hearts on your lined baking tray and bake for 30 minutes.
Remember to leave space between them on the tray as they will grow!
Once cool they can be served as they are or drizzled with melted chocolate! Mmmm!
